Where is God when the body is broken by disease and pain?
I feel powerless when Wanle was in pain and there was little I could do to alleviate the pain. It is just natural to wonder, where is God in all these? Where is God when the body is broken by disease and pain? I am not sure what my probing led me to but I found some comforting scriptures. Share with me the following scriptures:
25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth;
26 And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God,
27 Whom I shall see for myself, And my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!
Is Job 19:26 suggesting that as the body gets destroyed by disease there’s a “seeing” of God that’s beyond the ordinary? I want to believe so. As I gazed into Wanle I could see that as some things receded others progressed, like molting.
2 Corinthians 5
1 For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven,
2 Corinthians 5
6 So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord.
8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
1 John 3
2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
1 Corinthians 15
40 There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
44 It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
2 Corinthians 4
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.
